The branch Chairmen of both National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Comrade Gbenga Joseph and his counterpart in the Medical and Health Workers Union Comrade Olajide Adeyemo passed a vote of confidence on the Caretaker Chairman of Mopamuro LGA, Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny.
This was done alongside their Executives during familiarization visit to the Chairman in his office today.
They thanked the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the incumbent Executive Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for making the right choice by appointing Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny to pilot the affairs of Mopamuro LGA.
The union leaders praised the Caretaker Chairman for the equitable and just distribution of the palliatives given to the Council by Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
They specifically thanked the Council boss for giving top priority to staff welfare and used the medium to commend him for connecting the Council Secretariat to National grid and ensuring the rehabilitation of motorized borehole at the Secretariat.
I must confess that you have written your name on the soil of time for the little time you have taken charge of the affiars of the LG. You are the kind of leader leaders we craved for over time in this trying time; thanks for the random cash donations to staff which goes a long way to ameliorate their transport fare, the NULGE Chairman stated.
They congratulated him for a giant strides recorded in just two months in office and assured him of total support and cooperation at all times, prayed for more wisdom and strength to take Mopamuro LGA to an enviable heights.
In his remark, the Caretaker chairman, Hon. Destiny, thanked the Union leaders for the visit and promised to lead with the fear of God and open door governance that will entertain ideas and divergence views so far it will bring about positive consequences on the development of our dear Local Government.
The council boss informed them of his readiness to bring democracy closer to his people noting that one of his agenda among many is staff welfare.
Furthermore, he used the forum once again to appreciate the Executive Governor of Kogi State for giving him the golden opportunity to serve his people. I want to urge the union leaders to appeal to staff to avoid truancy, absenteeism and rumor mongering, remember, to whom much is given, much is expected. Therefore, i enjoin you all to be dedicated to duty and remain steadfast in your respective field, the Chairman admonished.
He maintained that all hands must be on desk to ensure that we give maximum support, total loyalty and cooperation to the Government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
