The Kwara State Government has commended the Executive Chairman of the Edu Local Government Council, Hon. Abdullahi Bello Ndamangoro, on his huge intervention in the educational sector.
The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, gave the commendation while inspecting the projects executed by the Council barely seven months after his inauguration.
The Commissioner, who said he was aware that the remodeling and renovations of the schools cost the Council huge funds, lauded the Council Boss for confronting the challenges in the sector head-on for the benefit of the upcoming generation.
Hon. Bata described the Executive Chairman as one of the finest representatives of the Council, whose antecedents in identifying with his people and providing good governance are unparalleled.
He, however, implored the Chairman to ensure that necessary furniture and instructional materials are provided in all the classrooms and offices in earnest to enhance teaching and learning.
In his response, the Council Boss disclosed that he was aware of the huge investment of the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in the education sector, especially in the 16 Local Government, adding that his Council’s investment in the sector was to complement the Governor’s efforts.
Hon. Ndamangoro further disclosed that after several interactions and deliberations with people on several requests for Council’s intervention, especially those related to education, they came up with the remodeling and renovations of thirty – one classrooms and twenty – one offices across all the political wards in the Council.
He further disclosed that the remodeled classrooms and offices would be commissioned as he was aware some of the facilities are already being put to use.
He added: “All the facilities would be provided with the required instructional materials in earnest. He appealed to other communities in need of similar interventions to be patient as all their requests will be adequately attended to in due course.”
Among the schools inspected were four classrooms with offices at LGEA Primary School, Catholic at Bacita in Tsaragi Ward ll, two classrooms at Central Primary School, Tsaragi Ward lll, two classrooms at LGEA Primary School at Edogi – Dokun in Lafiagi Ward IV.
Others are two classrooms with offices at UBEA Primary School at Gbagunta Community of Tsaragi Ward l and UBEA Primary School in Sonmasun of Lafiagi Ward respectively, among others.
