

In a vibrant display of grassroots connection and community spirit, the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ibaji Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, spent the Christmas season in her home constituency, engaging with various groups and reinforcing her commitment to local welfare.
During the visit, the Deputy Speaker held consultative meetings with various youth and women groups, most notably the “Comfort Ladies” from Odeke and Ojila wards. These interactions provided a platform for the lawmaker to bond with her people, listen to their communal needs, and reaffirm her dedication to representing their interests at the state level.
In a practical demonstration of her commitment to the welfare of her constituents, Rt. Hon. Egwaba facilitated the distribution of various food items to ensure a joyful yuletide for families. A major highlight was the distribution and official unveiling of a new uniform (wrapper) for the “Comfort Ladies.” The wrapper, which was gifted as part of the seasonal distribution, was met with great excitement as the women donned the new attire, symbolizing their unity and unwavering support for the Deputy Speaker’s vision for the community.
Addressing the jubilant crowd, the Deputy Speaker noted that the homecoming was an essential part of her duty to remain connected to the people who gave her their mandate. She emphasized that the youth and women remain the backbone of local development, promising to continue prioritizing empowerment programs that directly impact their livelihoods. The event, filled with cultural displays and songs of appreciation, underscored the strong bond between the lawmaker and the residents of Ibaji LGA.
She stated, “As we transition into the new year, I want to extend my warmest wishes to every indigene of Ibaji and the entire Kogi State.
