Kogi Table Water Association Increases Bag of Sachet Water to 130
Kogi State Chapter of the Association of Table Water Producers has announced an increment in the price of a bag of table water also known as sachet water.
Spokesman of the Association, Mr. Moshood Ibrahim announced this while speaking with Newsmen in Lokoja.
Early last year, the Association of Table Water Producers in Kogi State announced an increment in the price of sachet water from one hundred Naira to one hundred and twenty due to the economic effect occasioned by the first wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
This suffered huge set back following government intervention as well as the refusal of some Producers to abide by the price who still sell at the rate of one hundred Naira.
The Spokesman of the Association, Mr. Moshood Ibrahim said the move to increase price of bag of sachet water was as a result of high cost of materials of production occasioned by the current economic hardship.
He noted that as from Wednesday thirteenth January, a bag of table water will be sold at one hundred and thirty naira, saying the plan was not to cause hardship for consumers but to reduce the effect of the high cost of production.
Mr. Ibrahim stated that with the new price, the price of a sachet of water is still ten Naira, urging retailers to cooperate with the Association not make life difficult the people.
The Spokesman added that the Association will continue to partner with the National Food Drug Administration and Control NAFDAC to ensure production of standard water for the people of Kogi State.
