
Pa Agiddi passes on at 78 years , Family Members Announce
The families of Pa Samuel Sumaila Agiddi wish to announce the passing on to eternal glory of their lovely uncle, father, grandfather who departed this world on the 22nd February, 2021 at the age of 78 years.
Pa Agiddi , from grass to grace, lived a life of fulfilment and accomplishment through the dints of hardwork, dexterity and utmost commitment.
The late father of all by virtue of his generosity and selfless service to the people and the nation was born on the 22nd November, 1942 into the Omaro (his grandfather) family.
He was mentored by his big cousin the late Rt. Reverend Bishop Herbert Haruna who took him under his wings.
Pa Sumaila Agiddi went from being a farm boy to start his career as a proficiency teacher.
He later trained as a registered Nurse and subsequently joined the Nigerian Air Force where he rose through the ranks to retire with the rank of Squadron Leader (Army Major) after 35 years of meritorious service to his father land.
During his time in the military, he attended post graduate studies in California, Pittsburgh and Texas in United State of America (USA).
Pa Agiddi who will be remembered for his simplicity, served in various senior officer capacity at various formations and command across Nigeria including rounds of overseas postings to ECOMOG theatre of operations in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
He displayed exemplary performance, uncommon courage, camaraderie and respect for constituted authority in the assigned sensitive roles.
His professionalism and attitude endeared him to the then Emir of Borgu in Kainji, Niger state and a host of colleagues and contemporaries, some of who passed through him or trained under him.
He is married to his surviving spouse Grace Bolaji Agiddi and has five children namely Henry Asuku Agiddi, David Onimisi Agiddi, Henrietta Ohunene Olayioye, John Omeiza Agiddi and Deborah Oyiza Agiddi.
By the glory of God almighty, all the children are graduates and the more older ones are holders of post graduate degrees in various disciplines and endeavours.
Pa Sumaila Agiddi spent his last 10 years bonding with his native land and people where he felt so well taken care of by great Christian communion under the Cathedral church of okene, Kogi State.
Moreso, a funeral service is being Organized at the Cathedral Church of Okene after which the burial will take place on the 5th March 2021 at his residence in Nagazi, Adavi ,Kogi State .
