Ramadan fasting: Oseni distributes two trucks of beans
As Muslims around the globe begin the Holy month of Ramadan, Senator Yakubu Oseni representing Kogi Central Senatorial District has commenced distribution of two trucks of beans to his constituents.
The lawmaker who flagged off the distribution yesterday in Okene said the gesture was to support or augment the stock of his constituents who will be taking part in the fasting which he described as one of the important obligations of Muslim ummahs.
Senator Oseni, known for his frequent philanthropic gesture across the five local government areas of his constituency announced the distribution modalities which cut across political party affiliations.
In order to ensure seamless circulation, the bags of beans were handed over to leaders from each of the five local government areas for onward distribution through mosques, imams and sheikhs.
Distribution of the Ramadan palliative also cut across religious lines as some groups of men, women and other notable individuals including all the clan heads and traditional rulers in the various local government areas were beneficiaries of the lawmaker’s benevolence.
Senator Oseni however urged his constituents to use this period in seeking the face of God and pray for the peaceful coexistence of the various segments of Kogi State and the country at large.
”May Almighty Allah grant our supplications in this season and beyond and forgive our shortcomings,” he prayed.
