Eid-el-Kabir: Ex-Kwara Speaker gave cash support to PDP faithful *As Ilorin South PDP throws weight behind his 2027 guber ambition Stephen Olufemi Oni, Ilorin

Stakeholders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, have commended the philanthropic initiative of Prof. Ali Ahmad, a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly and renowned Professor of Constitutional Law, as he gave cash support worth millions of naira to party faithful.

The event, held at his GRA Residence in Ilorin, aimed to bring joy to the less privileged amid economic challenges in the country.

This humanitarian gesture, facilitated through his Foundation, the Ali Ahmad Foundation, benefited over 50 individuals from each Local Government Area in Kwara State, each receiving the sum of N25,000.

Earlier, the former lawmaker had during an enlarged meeting with PDP stakeholders and members from across the 11 political wards in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State declared his intention to contest the governorship seat in 2027

The enlarged meeting was held at the Sabo line Constituency Office of Prof Ali Ahmad on Friday shortly after his arrival from the Federal Capital territory, Abuja.

Responding, the party stakeholders declared their full support for his ambition as he is the only aspirant from the local council.

While presenting the cash support, Professor Ahmad reiterated his commitment to giving back to society and his willingness to keep supporting and touching lives.

“As we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, let us remember the values of compassion, kindness, and generosity that define our faith,” he said

“Let us extend a helping hand to those in need, just as Allah has blessed us with abundance.”

The Professor of Constitutional law added that the initiative was a token of his commitment to the well-being of the community and the people.

He added: “I urge you all to celebrate this Eid with love, peace, and harmony. Let us supplicate to God to perfect everything about our nation and grant us wisdom, guidance, and prosperity.

“While celebrating Eid-el-Kabir, let us supplicate to God to perfect everything about our nation,” Professor Ahmad urged.

His selflessness was, therefore, commended by Kwara North PDP Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Ndako Kpada, and Kwara PDP Senatorial Chairman (Central), Alhaji Isiaka Owolabi, who praised his tireless efforts in organising meaningful programmes.

The event brought together dignitaries, including Hon Atolagbe, former Commissioner for Health, party stalwarts, religious leaders, and stakeholders, united in their appreciation for Professor Ali Ahmad’s kindness.
