A bill seeking to repeal and enact Former Governors Special Grant Law twenty nineteen has been forwarded to Kogi State House of Assembly.

The Special Grant Law for former Governors gives legal framework for the payment of Pension or gratuity to past Chief
Executives.

The Speaker,Prince Matthew Kolawole who read the letter of the Governor said due to economic situation, government can no longer sustain the implementation of the law.

 

In the meantime the Speaker had earlier welcomed members after the suspension of the industrial action embarked upon by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigerian (PASAN).

Prince Kolawole who commended members for their cooperation and support which according to him engendered peaceful and robust Legislative business.

He urged them to double their efforts to regain lost ground as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic by ensuring that pending bills were attended to.
