The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Good Governance and Due Process Honourable Aturu Ojo has described the visit of the Governor to the victims of the fire disaster that razed the popular GSM village at Kpata in Lokoja as a rare leadership quality that can only be found in the people’s governor of the State.
Honourable Aturu Ojo stated this in a statement issued to commend His Excellency for on the spot assessment of the GSM village to ascertain the level of damage caused by the fire outbreak.
He said Governor Ododo has demonstrated that his administration has the interest of the people at heart irrespective of political affiliation, tribe and religion.
The Special Adviser to the governor on Good Governance and Due Process, said a lot needed to be learnt from the leadership style of the number one citizen in the state, saying the visit of the Governor to GSM village has rekindled hope in the minds of the victims that they were not alone in the misfortune that happened to them and their businesses.
“I really don’t know how to described the visit of the Governor to the GSM village. He can choose to send one or two of his appointees to the place, but he decided to be there personally so that owners of the businesses destroyed by fire can be strong.
“Also his words of sympathy and encouragement have given the victims hope that Kogi State government is there for them in the period of their adversity.
“His Excellency’s promise of immediate relief measures and his plan of rebuilding and recovery of lost property to the business operators in the market also gladden their heart and one can see the joy of hope on their faces.
“I am using this medium to thank His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the visit and I am also expressing my sympathy to all the business owners at the GSM village” he said.
