The man ‘Tosin Olokun having been tested with his appointment as the caretaker chairman recently displayed uncommon competency, capacity and responsiveness to governance.
His astonishing performance as caretaker chairman, running inclusive administration earned him people’s trust which was the main reason other political parties opted to adopt him as a sole candidate for the Chairmanship position as they all declined to field any candidate in opposition. A feat that was never recorded since the creation of Yagba West Local Government.
His caretaker Secretary and confidant, Hon. Oluwafemi Adeyeye having worked closely with him, described his boss, has an uncommon creature with unparalleled humility, obsessed with unimaginable passion for people’s welfare and well-being.
Tosin Olokun’s emergence and inauguration as the new Executive Chairman widely celebrated by the good people of Yagba West is described as a ‘new dawn’ which ushered in a refreshing breath and a renewed hope.
The saying that “When the Righteous Rule, The people rejoice” is in consonance with the expectations of the citizens and residence of Yagba West who counted themselves lucky to have Tosin Olokun as the helmsman in the affairs of their Local Government.
Giving his antecedent, the people are optimistic that his leadership will provide adequate security and safety of lives and property for the people which has been his core achievement as a caretaker chairman.
Tosin Olokun’s emergence is the new currency of hope to the masses, children of nobody, the vulnerable, and the oppressed who have continued to celebrate their liberations from the political hegemony that have kept the people in political and social bondage for too long
His emergence signifies political freedom, economic emancipation and social upliftment for the downtrodden and the poor individuals in Yagba West Local Government.

The ALGON chairman is believed to be a chosen one, who God brought at this crucial time in the history of Yagba West to work with a focused and God sent governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, a welfarist and workers friendly governor, the ‘talk and do’ Chief Security Officer of Kogi State who has continued to make the welfare of workers and pensioners the priority of his administration.
Thanks to the amiable Governor Ododo for the huge confidence reposed in Tosin Olokun by re appointing him as the Kogi State ALGON chairman, this singular gesture is a demonstration of Ododo’s, love for the people of Yagba West.
Tosin Olokun without delay has hit the ground running by inaugurating the Legislative Council on Wednesday 23rd October, 2024 to give life to his administration.
