Over 250 widows empowered in Kabba community

Over 250 widows Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu federal constituency in Kogi state have benefitted from empowernment programme organized by the immediate past Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly Prince Matthew Kolawole.

Speaking during the empowernment programme held on Saturday in Kabba, Prince Kolawole, said that he was motivated by the spirit of given to the less privilege in the society.

The immediate past Speaker who described the 2025 empowernment programme as unique , stated that it coincided with his 60th birthday cerebration.

“The 2025 empowernment programme is special to me because I have just attained 60 years on earth. I did one empowernment programme in the month of March 2025 and this is another one in May which is special to mark my 60 years birthday cerebration.

“I am distributing rice, cloths,10,000 naira and other palliatives to each of the 250 widows that across my federal constituency. Additional, 50 indigent of Kabba – Bunu that I do give money to on monthly basis as allowance have also received their money.

“I lost my wife some few years ago and even before her death we have been doing this empowernment programme together and since I am still alive I will continue to give back to my people” he said.

He also assured that he will be given scholarship to students from Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency in the month of July, 2025 to assist them in pursuing their education.
