The Nupe Natives of Lokoja Development Union has extended its deepest condolences to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State following the passing of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Sani Momoh Ododo.
The union’s President, Alh. Abdullahi Ndashitte Abubakar, gave the condolences in a statement signed on behalf of HRH Emmanuel Akamisoko Dauda Shelika – Nyamkpa IV, the Etsu Lokoja, and made available to journalists on Thursday in Lokoja.
Shelika – Nyamkpa IV described the news of Alhaji Ododo’s passing as a deep shock, noting that Kogi State has lost a father figure, silent achiever, and gentle guide.
He praised Alhaji Ododo’s legacy, highlighting his love for humanity, fear of Allah, and adherence to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
The statement reads: “The news of the passing of our father, the patriarch of the first family of our dear Kogi State Alh. Ahmed Sani Momoh Ododo came as a very deep shock.
“No doubt, Kogi State has lost a father-figure, a silent achiever and a gentle righteous guide.
“His wise and firm counsels impacted the conduct of governance across the State through the leadership of our very indefatigable, humane, amiable and dynamic Governor, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo as well as within his immediate community in particular.
“On behalf of my people, the Native Nupe of Lokoja and our Chiefs, I express our deepest condolences to the Governor, the entire Ododo family and Kogi State as a whole.
“Our hearts and prayers are with you at this time of grief.
“Your Excellency Sir, please, take solace in the legacies Adai left behind which includes his love for humanity/community and his fear of Allah (SWT) as well as his adherence to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) which are worthy of emulation.
“As we pray that the most merciful God continue to comfort your hearts with the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss, we also pray that God forgive his shortcomings and grant him peace and a prime place in Aljanna Firdausi.
“Once again, please, accept our heartfelt condolences as we continue to assure you of the compliments of our best regards and unalloyed loyalty always, Your Excellency, Sir”.
