A former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Botswana, Ambassador Isaac Onuh, on Thursday joined family, friends, and political associates at the third-day Fidau prayers for the late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, father of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Ambassador Onuh, while speaking briefly with journalists, described the late patriarch as “a man of deep faith, discipline, and remarkable influence whose legacy will continue to inspire generations.” He urged the Ododo family to find solace in the exemplary life and contributions of their late father to the community and the state at large.
“Baba Ododo lived a life of service, humility and devotion to his people and to God. His passing is a loss not just to his family, but to the entire Kogi State,” he added.
Governor Ododo, visibly moved by the show of support, expressed appreciation to all who stood with the family during their moment of grief. He equally thanked the federal government of Nigeria for sending a delegation, led by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, to pay him a condolence visit.
The solemn event, held at the family residence in Okene, attracted dignitaries from across the state and beyond, including religious leaders, traditional rulers, top government officials, and members of the political class.
The late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, an accomplished community leader and devout Muslim, passed away earlier this week at the age of 83.
