
The Kogi State Council, Nigeria Union of Journalists has released the itinerary for it 2025 Press Week.
According to a statement issued in Lokoja, activities for the Press Week begins on Friday, 19th September, 2025 with Moslem prayers at the Ministry of Education Mosque.
The week long event will be followed with Christian prayers at the at Regional Headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of Grace, Lokongoma on Sunday, 21st September with a church service by 9:00am.
Other activities lined up for the week include Road Walk for Monday, 22nd September while other activities like visit to orphanages, Environmental Sanitation with the Grand finale scheduled for Thursday September 25th.
Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo is billed to attend the Kogi State 2025 NUJ Press Week Grand Finale as Special Guest of Honour.
Other important dignitaries from across the country also expected at the Grand finale include; Kogi State Government top functionaries, Members of the Civil Society, Organized Labour.
The Theme for the 2025 NUJ Press Week is; “Kogi State’s Solid Minerals: How Media Can Drive Development”
The Press Week is an annual event for all working Journalists in the State, provides platform for sober reflection as well as to reposition the Union for effective service delivery.
Furthermore, the Grand finale for this year’s Press Week will now hold at the NUJ Press Centre Lokoja on the 25th September, 2025 by 10:00am.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Abubakar Gegu will serve as the Chairman for the 2025 NUJ Press Week and Grand finale while the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo is the Chief Host of the Press Week.
The NUJ National President, Comr. Alhassan Yahya Abdul and other National and Zonal Officers of the Union are expected in Kogi State for the 2025 NUJ Press Week Grand finale.
Similarly, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu, the Ohimegye Igu Kingdom is the Royal Father of the day.
According to a statement issued by the State NUJ Chairman Seidu Ademu and Secretary Olusegun Ayindero-Oyenibi, the NUJ National President and other National and Zonal Officers of the union are expected in the State for the Grand finale.
Similarly, the NUJ will at the Grand finale of the Press Week Honour the under listed individuals for their immense contribution to development of the State and for impacting lives in the society positively.
