*Again, Senator Oseni empowers 800 Ajaokuta, Okene constituents*
No fewer than 800 people of Ajaokuta and Okene Local Government Areas have benefitted from Senator Yakubu Oseni’s ongoing empowerment scheme on Agricultural Value Chain.
The empowerment programme which began with Okehi Local Government Area on Monday, had Okene Local Government beneficiaries drawn from Okengwe, Upogoro, Obehira and all the axis of Okene 1 while Ajaokuta beneficiaries were drawn from Ganaja, Ebiya, Adogo, Ajaokuta Town including Igala speaking women and youths resident in Ajaokuta LGA. Hausa community in Ajaokuta LG also benefited from the empowerment.
Senator Oseni has always maintained that for sustainable economic prosperity and food security, efforts ought to be made to make commercial farming attractive and lucrative at the grassroots.
This informed his decision to embark on the Agricultural Value Chain empowerment to enlighten young farmers on techniques for processing and preservation of farm produce in order to ensure optimal gains from their farming activities.
While encouraging the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the opportunity, Senator Oseni emphasized that agricultural value chain has the potential to trigger economic growth in a higher scale with a trickle-down effect on other sectors of the local government areas and Nigerian economy in general.
The elated beneficiaries who were given start up capital by Senator Oseni promised to be more creative and innovative in their farming activities, adding that the ideas they garnered about modern farming have broadened their horizons.
“We appreciate Distinguished Senator Yakubu Oseni for remembering us. Aside the fund that we were given, the benefits of the skills we learnt is unquantifiable. May Almighty Allah continue to reward him,” they prayed.
