Family members, friends, political associates, and well-wishers yesterday, December 7, 2025, converged at the Dwelling Place Chapel in Eganyi, Ajaokuta LGA, Kogi State, to celebrate Mr. Momoh Aziz Steven and to thank God for his elevation and steady progress in public service.
In his remarks, Mr. Aziz expressed profound gratitude to God for sustaining him throughout his one year and three months of service as Permanent Secretary in the Kogi State Ministry of Health. He described the occasion as “a true moment of celebration and thanksgiving,” acknowledging divine grace as the foundation of his journey.
Recalling his milestones, Mr. Aziz highlighted the year 2000 as a turning point, when he was recalled to Kogi State for an appointment at the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation shortly after completing his Master’s degree at Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto. Seven years later, he was appointed Senior Special Assistant to the then Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris. Under the administration of former Governor Idris Wada, he further served as a Permanent Member of the Local Government Service Commission.
Mr. Aziz paid a glowing tribute to his political mentor and leader, Chief Moses Ado Okino, acknowledging his guidance, support, and the numerous opportunities he provided. Though political paths sometimes differed, he reaffirmed his deep respect, honour and appreciation to Chief Okino.
He specially praised and extended sincere appreciation to His Excellency, the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for appointing him into the Kogi State Civil Service as Permanent Secretary. He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the Governor and commended his dedication to excellence and the welfare of the people. Mr. Aziz pledged total loyalty and steadfast commitment to the success of the Ododo administration.
During the ceremony, the church presented him with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding contributions, dedication, and support to the Body of Christ. The church leadership noted that his impact was significant, visible, and deeply appreciated.
Testimonies poured in from various speakers who described Mr. Momoh Aziz Steven as a man of integrity, humility, and genuine passion for service. They praised his honesty, dedication, and consistent efforts to uplift others, noting that “so many good things can be said about him.”
The ceremony was attended by notable personalities, including traditional rulers, political leaders, heads of institutions, and community stakeholders.
