DEPUTY SPEAKER PARTICIPATES IN COMFORT LADIES EMPOWERMENT IN ONYEDEGA AND UJEH WARDS
On Saturday, 7th February 2026, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojomah Egwaba Nwuchiola, Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and Member representing Ibaji State Constituency, participated in the inauguration and distribution of clothing materials to members of Comfort Ladies at Onyedega (Onyedega Ward) and Uchuchu (Ujeh Ward) in Ibaji Local Government Area.
The empowerment initiative, which attracted party stakeholders and community members across both wards, was aimed at supporting women and strengthening grassroots participation in community development.
The event in Uchuchu was further marked by the defection of several opposition party members to the ruling party, a clear indication of the increasing support for the Deputy Speaker’s people-centered leadership and developmental efforts within the constituency.
During the programmes, party stakeholders in Onyedega and Ujeh Wards endorsed the Deputy Speaker for a second term, citing her impactful representation, responsive leadership, and unwavering commitment to grassroots development. In her remarks, she commended the women for their dedication, resilience, and valuable contributions to community growth, while emphasizing the need for sustained involvement in empowerment-driven initiatives.
The programmes underscored the collective resolve of Ibaji leaders to advance women’s empowerment, deepen community engagement, and promote sustainable development at the grassroots level.
