As we begin the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday, I join Christians around the world in embracing this sacred moment — a time to pause, reflect, and draw closer to God. It is a solemn reminder of our shared humanity and a call to repentance, spiritual renewal, humility, and self-discipline. This season invites us to recommit ourselves to the values that foster peace, unity, and mutual respect within our communities.
I urge citizens to use this period to show compassion to the vulnerable, extend forgiveness, and strengthen the bonds that hold our society together. May this holy season deepen our faith, inspire purposeful living, and guide us all toward a more peaceful and prosperous society.
