The remains of late Mrs. Margaret Uyo Nwuchiola, mother of the Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, have been laid to rest amidst prayers, tears, and heartfelt tributes.
The funeral service, held at the Church with the Gospel in Idah, Kogi State, saw family, friends, and dignitaries gather to celebrate the life of a woman who lived a remarkable life of faith, humility, and dedicated service to God.
Speaking at the service, Reverend John Adino, a visiting Pastor of the United Evangelical Church, Kubwa, Abuja, urged the congregation to use their wealth and positions to serve God and humanity during their short time on earth.
Reverend Adino emphasized that God can remove anyone from a position of authority at any time and therefore advised individuals not to use their positions to intimidate others, but rather to honor God and positively impact society.
The Clergy described the life of late Mrs. Nwuchiola as a testimony of faith and service, calling on her children and family to sustain the legacy she left behind.
In his condolence message, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Timothy Ojomah, sympathized with the Deputy Speaker and her family, praying for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased and reminding them that their mother lived a fulfilled and impactful life.
A daughter of the deceased and Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, who expressed her deep sense of loss, said she would greatly miss her mother’s discipline, resilience, wise counsel, and prayers.
The Deputy Speaker however, found consolation in the fact that her mother died in Christ, steadfastly upholding the banner of faith and preaching the gospel until her last moments.
Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba thanked all who came to celebrate her mother’s life, praying that God would richly reward them for their support and presence during the funeral.
