The Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of Kuwait, Amb. (Dr.) Sanusi Abubakar Gamji, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for his magnanimity in considering him worthy of this appointment as the Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of Kuwait.
In his words: “With profound gratitude to Almighty Allah, I wish to express my deepest appreciation to the Federal Government of Nigeria, under the purposeful leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and to the Government and people of Kogi State for the immense confidence reposed in me through this distinguished appointment.”
According to him, this honour is not merely a personal recognition—it is a call to greater service. It is a call he has accepted with humility, with responsibility, and with an unalloyed commitment to excellence.
Ambassador Abubakar emphasized that his mision is clear and unwavering: To advance humanitarian services, to deepen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Kuwait, and to attract meaningful investments that will stimulate economic growth to improve the lives of our people.
He said, “Over the years, I have been actively engaged in private enterprises with a strong passion for humanitarian services—an area that aligns closely with the priorities of the Government of Kuwait. This shared interest presents a unique opportunity, one that I am determined to harness for the benefit and well-being of Nigerians at home and abroad”.
Amb. Abubakar Sanusi also used this moment to sincerely appreciate everyone—those who celebrated this appointment with him, and even those who watched with cautious optimism. He assured the people of Kogi State and all Nigerians that he will remain committed to representing Nigeria with honour, integrity, and dignity while promising to work tirelessly to build partnerships that will deliver real value, and uplift our communities.
He further acknowledged the fact that our nation is facing security challenges but remarked that, in the face of these trials, the determined and pragmatic efforts of Mr. President remain both visible and commendable. He solicited for the support of all Nigerians for Mr. President to enable us defeat these insecurity challenges.
In his further appeal to the people of Kogi State, he said: “Let us be clear: security is not the responsibility of the National and sub national governments alone. It is a collective duty of the government and the citizens. Mr. President cannot do it alone. Therefore, I urge every citizen—be vigilant, be responsive, and remember: if you see something, say something. Together, we can overcome insurgency and criminality in order to build a safer Nigeria.
Furthermore, he used this opportunity to commend the government of Kogi State, under the able and focused leadership of His Excellency, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo for his decisive actions, leading to significant improvements in security, giving our people renewed confidence and peace of mind.
Amb. Sanusi Abubakar further enumerated some of the sterling achievements of His Excellency, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo, (*The Native Boy*) to include, but not limited to:
*Infrastructural development which includes road networks in the three senatorial zones, building and renovating schools structures, in addition to providing boreholes and toilet facilities in our schools, etc.
*Expansion of our universities and accreditation of major courses in the three state universities.
*Prompt payment of workers salaries and pensions fully paid.
*Building human “bridges” among the various tribes in the state, and providing effective leadership to guarantee peace and tranquility.
*Embarking on legacy projects such as the Airport and the Free Trade Zone.
*The tourism blueprint undergoing review, will also open Kogi State to the world.
*Agriculture, which is another major potential the state is harnessing.
