LEADERSHIP, COURAGE, AND THE TRIUMPH OF ADVOCACY IN OGORI-MAGONGO
The recent resolution of the issues surrounding the representation of Ogori-Magongo in the Kogi State House of Assembly has once again affirmed the enduring value of constructive engagement, responsible advocacy, and responsive leadership in the pursuit of justice, equity, and communal harmony.
As a stakeholder and proud son of Ogori-Magongo, I wish to sincerely commend His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, for demonstrating exemplary leadership by listening to superior arguments and embracing the path of fairness, equity, and justice.
One of the defining hallmarks of great leadership is the ability to listen, reassess, and make decisions that serve the collective interest of the people. Governor Ododo has demonstrated this admirable quality and has once again proven that there is never a wrong time to do the right thing.
His intervention has not only strengthened public confidence in leadership but has also reinforced the principles of equity, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence that are essential for sustainable development and lasting unity.
I also wish to pay special tribute to one of the most distinguished sons of Magongo, Chief J.B. Daudu, SAN, a highly respected legal luminary and elder statesman whose commitment to justice, fairness, and the advancement of our people remains unwavering. His principled position, wise counsel, and steadfast support for what is right continue to inspire confidence and hope across our community.
Equally deserving of commendation is the leadership of the Magongo Development Association (MDA) under the able stewardship of Prince Jordan Alaba Akpata. Throughout this period, he demonstrated courage, maturity, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to the collective interest of Magongo. His conduct exemplifies the very essence of servant leadership and community service.
Furthermore, I extend my profound appreciation to the numerous eminent sons and daughters of Ogori and Magongo who stood together in support of justice, equity, and fairness. Through peaceful advocacy, dialogue, persuasion, and constructive engagement, they demonstrated that meaningful progress is best achieved through unity and mutual respect rather than confrontation.
This development serves as a powerful reminder that communities achieve lasting victories when they choose reason over rancour, dialogue over discord, and unity over division.
As we move forward, I urge all stakeholders and citizens of Ogori-Magongo to embrace reconciliation, strengthen our bonds of brotherhood, and focus on the collective task of advancing the development, peace, and prosperity of our Local Government Area.
The true victory belongs not to any individual or group, but to the people of Ogori-Magongo and to the enduring principles of justice, fairness, equity, and unity.
God bless Magongo.
God bless Ogori.
God bless Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area.
God bless Kogi State.
Signed:
High Chief Meka Adesina-Soje
Convener, Ododo Vanguard, for the good people Ogori-Magongo
