VISION BIRTHS LEGACIES AND A LEADER MUST HAVE ONE

As the former president, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, rightly asserts that the legacy of any political leader is not necessarily judged by the physical infrastructural and capital projects executed in his administration, but by the systemic transformation he brings about through his leadership ideologies. In other words, the question of a transformed society hovers around the ideology and ingenuity of the leader.

Erstwhile, we have had many leaders in several capacities and, in their numbers without any particular leadership ideologies driving their operations. We cannot trace the birth of positive patterns to their names; at best, just a continuation of the norms, and business as usual. This is tantamount to lack of vision and we can no longer have it. It is equally detrimental to the memory of the said leaders as their works fade away with time and their names are forgotten. More so, it is high time the simplest one of us agreed that at this kairos moment for our communities and nation at large, every elected representative or leader must display the grit of vision and should be held responsible for me.

Therefore, as I stand on the wisdom of the aforementioned elder statesman, I conclude that leading with a vision in mind is the only hope for a lasting legacy. As a young, successful and vision-driven aspirant, you would expect that I cannot take off without a clear-cut vision and strategy in place. As a matter of fact, I have birthed the ‘NEW AND BETTER’ campaign with incorporations of what I call the ‘3Es’ of transformation, purposed to focus on the ‘pivot and driving force’ of the society – the youths. These 3Es form the basis on which my campaign manifestos are formed. Stick with me as I reel out the details next week 1st March 2022.
