RECOMMENDATION FOR A NATIONAL MERIT AWARD FOR HIS
ROYAL MAJESTY, THE ETSU BASSA-NGE KINGDOM , RTD BRIG.

Nigeria National Volunteer Service (NNVS) has beamed it’s searchlight on
his Royal Majesty the Etsu Bassa-Nge Kingdom and has discovered that
retired Brig.Gen. Abu Ali has dedicated his life to serving humanity since
the demise of his Son Lt. Col. Mohammed Abu Ali who took after his
Father and paid the Supreme price by dieing in active service while
defending his county against the dreaded Boko Haram in Borno State.His passion to help the poorest of the poor in his kingdom and beyond has become parts and parcel of his character lately, he has demonstrated this
in several ways as he attracted primary health care centre and personally
sponsored Eyes treatments from the Federal Medical Center (FMC) to his
Kingdom.
The Royal Father also lobbies for NYSC medical personnel every year to take care of his people, especially those who can not afford quality
healthcare service as a result of their poor financial status.
His philanthropic activities to humanity is also too numerous to mention.In view of his voluntary services to his people across Bassa local
government area and beyond, the umbrella body of all registered NGO’s gave him at our level but we are seriously and sincerely recommending him for a National Award to spur him to do more and for other traditional
rulers to emulate him. In our further investigation, we discovered more revelation that he equally has uncommon love for Education as he has influenced the siting of
National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) studies centre in Bassa local government aimed at bring quality education to the door steps of his
people. Most profoundly, his son a gallant soldier paid a supreme price by
displaying bravery, and resilience in defending the Nigeria against Boko Haram before he joined the league of Fallen Heroes. In recognition of his Royal Majesty’s love for humanity and quest for peace
and development, Oral Roberts University Oklahoma State United State of
America (USA)
gave him an award of Honorary Doctorate Degree of Law in Community
Development, on the 14th July, 2018. Due to his outstanding leadership qualities, the Nigeria National Volunteer Service, Kogi State chapter gave him an award of the Best Traditional Ruler in Health Care in Kogi State.Further more, the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) granted him a one week documentary programme titled “Our Palaces” viewed around the country and in Diaspora. In view of his enormous voluntary services, patriotism and nation building,his efforts has drawn our attention for this recommendation for a National recognition by the President, His Excellency General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd ) as he is still alive instead of celebrating him posthumously. Above all, the Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza
Bello, presented a Posthumous Award to his Son, late Lt. Col Mohd Abu Ali, in recognition of his bravery, Resilience, Doggedness and patriotism in
defense of Nigeria National Territorial Integrity, which he paid a Supreme price. His Royal Majesty fought the Civil War gallantly and his Son Lt. Col. Mohammed Abu Ali also died in defence of the Nation against Boko Haram in his prime age.What a price to pay for a Country he loves, our heroes should be
celebrated while alive for posterity.
