2023 : Saraki seek delegates support , promise revitalization of Ajaokuta Steel
Former Senate President and presidential aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , Dr Bukola Saraki has promised to prioritize the revitalization of Ajaokuta Steel company if given the mandate to lead the country.
Saraki who stated this on Sunday in Lokoja when he met with delegates of the party ahead of forthcoming presidential primaries of PDP , said any leader who have the interest of industrialization of the country at heart would not treat the issue of the steel company with levity.
The two term governor of Kwara state , said any government that has interest on revenue generation, jobs creation and industrialization of the country will place Ajaokuta on a front burner of its activities.
Dr Saraki who alleged that the current administration spent appreciable percentage of the country’s earnings on payment of loans, stressed that a nation that depend on debt servicing can never grow and assured that when he become the president of the country , he will not take loan to mortgage the future of Nigerians.
He promised to bring into the country investors that will boost the economy and create jobs for the people of the country.
While seeking the support of Kogi PDP delegates at the primaries, the former Chairman of Governor’s forum , said he has the intellectual capacity and wealth of experience to lead the country to the land of development and urged the delegates to vote wisely in the interest of Kogi state and Nigeria at large.
He pledged to deploy technology to tackle insecurity in the country if elected as president come 2023, saying that it is very irritating that insurgency has overwhelmed the nation where people are being killed on daily basis.
He explained that if given the mandate he would restructure security architectures, noting that all the security agencies would be repositioned and effective in their bid to tackle hydra headed insurgency in the country.
In his remark , the former governor of Kogi State and leader of PDP in the State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris said leadership is from God Almighty and gives to whoever He pleases and assured the presidential aspirant the support of the delegates from the state.
