60th Birthday : Bishop Egbunu Charge Christians to put their hope in God

Most Reverend Bishop Emmanuel Egbunu of Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity Lokoja, Kogi state has charged Christians across the country to put their hope in God in order to enjoy his mercy.

Bishop Egbunu gave the charge on Friday at Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity Lokoja, during his 60th birthday celebration organised by the dioceses.

The Bishop who expressed appreciation to God for sparing his life in the face of many challenges, charged Christians faithful to put their hope in God, saying the almighty God would take the control of every difficulties.

“This life is just a temporary abode, if you live up to hundred years, you will one day die, but if you put hope in God, it will not end” he advised.

He gave glory to God for sparing his life, saying “I am grateful to God because there are many of my mates born the same day, month and year with me, but today they are not alive and some of us who are alive is just by the grace of God almighty.

“I am using this occasion to ask God to allow me show my gratitude to him by serving him and serving humanity”

In his congratulatory message, Senator Tunde Ogbeha prayed to God to give Bishop Egbunu long life and prosperity to continue his service to God.

Also speaking at the occasion, the wife of the Bishop, Mrs Egbunu described her husband as a lover of God who have devoted his time and energy in serving God.

“He is a lover of God, I prayed that God will increase his wisdom to do more for God and humanity.

Hon Mrs Obayemi former commissioner for women Affare ,thank God for this day because it is a day God has destined that we should rejoice with our father who attained the age of 60 years. May God almighty gives him more wisdom, knowledge and understanding to carry on his divine ministry that God gave to him”She prayed.

The Treasurer of Church Mrs Abgbore in her goodwill message described the Bishop as a man of encouragement who had been a mentor and a guide to many people in Christianity realm.

“I love working with him because he does not interfere with the finances of the dioceses and he is a contended man. We pray that he will continue to live a glorious life” Mrs Abgbore revealed.
