Anglican Communion Appoints Professor Jegede as Education Adviser.

Kogi born Professor Emeritus, Olugbemiro Jegede, has been appointed as Adviser on Education Matters to the Primate of Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion.

This was contained in the letter of appointment presented to the renowned professor from the office of the Primate dated August 24th 2023 and made available to our correspondence.

According to the appointment letter, the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion concluded on Prof Jegede as the most suitable for the office of Adviser on Education Matter following a careful consideration of his extensive experience in the field of education in Nigeria and indeed the whole of Africa.

The statement added that Professor Jegede’s exceptional contributions to the policy and administrative spares of education in the country have earned him a well deserved reputation as a renowned professor Emeritus in Africa.

The statement further noted that his expertise and deep understanding of the educational system and practices are highly needed in guilding the church of Nigeria efforts to continue to enhance the quality of education within the church community.

As the Education Adviser, Professor Jegede would be responsible for providing expert advice on matters relating to education, including policy development, curriculum design, teachers training and other education initiatives .

The professor is expected to conduct research, analyse trends and make recommendations to ensure that the church of Nigeria remains at the forefront of excellent education in the country.

The appointment is with immediate effect and will continue for the period of three years.
He will be working closely with the church education committee and will be reporting to the Primate of Church of Nigeria, The Most Rev’d Dr. Henry C. Ndukuba

In his response, Professor Jegede thanked The Most Rev’d Dr Henry Ndukuba for finding him worthy of the appointment which he
received with immense gratitude and tremendous humility.

In his words Jegede said “:
This is very much appreciated.
We will rely wholly and comprehensively on the wisdom, guidance, and sufficiency of our Lord Jesus Christ in accomplishing the roles and responsibilities involved in the appointment”

He prayed for God’s wisdom and grace to perform and live up to the expectations of the church .
