Alh. Suleiman Baba-Ali is a well-known political figure in Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole. He is recognized for his staunch political consistency and beliefs in the rule of law, justice, and fairness.
Baba Ali has never decamped from his Party, and he gave total constructive opposition to the then-ruling party (PDP) in Kogi State while he held sway as former commissioner for Health during Prince Abubakar Audu regime on the defunct ANPP, which metamorphosed into the present APC.
His resolve earned him the sobriquet “political gladiator” who worked efficaciously with successful efforts and ensured the collapse of the then entire structure of the ruling PDP Government into the then ANPP before its final amalgamation into the APC.
Alh. Suleiman Baba-Ali is the Traditional Title holder of the Gabi Sayadi of Lokoja, and Matawlen Arewan Nupe, he contributed immensely to the growth of the APC in the North Central Geopolitical Zone with particular reference to Kogi, Niger, and Nasarawa states.
Despite the political tension then in these states over who controls the sole of the party post-merger, Baba-Ali’s leadership experience came to bear. He united the party and produced purposeful leadership across all the states in the zone expecially in Lokoja.
Baba-Ali has remained humble, tranquil, optimistic, and very kind to all those who come his way.
One good attribute consistent with Baba Ali is he always says; “Allah Gives Power or opportunity to who He Wills at his Own Appointed Time” and that “No Mortal could stand in the wheel of his Progress of any believer in the Almighty.
He has always prayed for the success of President Buhari Government and all his appointees.
Surprisingly, the Gabi of Lokoja has not been integrated properly by the then Buhari administration. Many young people who have faith in Baba Ali have long yearned for good representation to better their progression in public and private services.
It is utterly inconceivable that a man like Baba-Ali, who has given so much to the growth and development of APC, has not been made with portfolio i part of the Buhari and APC Government, eight (8) years down the line.
The name Baba Ali became more obvious spanning over Three (3) decades for his generosity to youths and all. He has made it possible to secure employment in both State and Federal Civil Service for over One Hundred (100) youths in Kogi State and Nationwide.
It is, therefore, time for the Tinubu led APC Government to recognize and honor its great men, like Alh. Suleiman Baba-Ali, to further propel the APC Government to an enviable level and for the betterment of the Nigerian State.
Political intrigues in Kogi State are sometimes overwhelming, but putting the story of Suleiman Baba-Ali to the fore will certainly change the dynamics.
His hard work and dedication to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi and nationally have not been properly placed, leaving others more committed to the ideals of the Party.
Several youths irrespective of State, Tribe, and Religion have benefited tremendously from his goodwill through employment opportunities and entrepreneurial development.
Furthermore,Alh Baba Ali’s loyalty to the APC and his consistent efforts to ensure the success of the party cannot be overemphasized. He has proven to be a reliable and trusted ally of the party, with his unwavering commitment to the party’s principles and objectives.
As such, it is only fitting that the new elected President, His Excellency Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, considers utilizing the political sagacity of Baba Ali in his administration.
