Bashir Gegu, Idris Ndakwo, others honour Aguye at mum’s Fidau prayers By:Abubakar S. H

The honourable commissioner for solid minerals and natural resources, Hon. Bashir Gegu, on Sunday led other dignitaries to attend the fidau prayer for Hajiya Amina Aguye, mother of the House of Reps-Elect,Lokoja-Kogi constituency, Hon. Danladi Suleiman Aguye.

Other dignitaries that graced the event included the Chairman of Lokoja Local government area, Hon. Muhammed DanAsabe Muhammad, chairman of SUBEB, Comrade Abdullahi Suleman, the Chief Security to the Governor, Suleman Abdlmalik, member of the House of Assembly, Hon. Idris Ndako, Lokoja Chairman of APC, Maikudi Bature.

Late Hajia Amina Aguye died on Thursday and was buried the same day according to Islamic rites at her karara residence.

Despite her death at ripe age, she was an accomplished woman within and outside her family. She lived a fulfilled life and impacted the lives of those that crossed her. She was a devoted Muslim, who preached and practised the tenets of Islam.

The prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban who extolled the virtues of the deceased.

In a brief sermon, Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban reminded all of Allah’s commandment that they should take good care of their parents, dead or alive.

He admonished children to remember their dead parents through acts of charity and kindness to the needy.

While speaking to Nigerian Trend, the son, Hon. Danladi Aguye said “my mum is my best friend. She was a humble and peaceful person. She was accommodating and she doesn’t discriminate. Everybody was her friend, young, old, small, Christian, Muslim”he said.

He thanked all those that attended the fidau prayers saying that its a practical display of love shown to him.
