Communal crisis in Bassa LG :Gov -Bello Issues stern warnings to perpetrators

Perpetrators of communal crises in Biroko and Kpanche communities in Bassa Local government area of Kogi State have been told to desist or face the full wrath of the law.

Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello gave the caution at the Government House Lokoja when he met with some political and traditional leaders from the local council.

The Governor said a peace process had been put in place to ensure return of displaced persons in the communities, hence directed the police and DSS to deal decisively with anyone or group who derailed the process.

Alhaji Bello charged the Police and other Security agencies to thoroughly identify and mop up arms that were in the hands of unauthorized individuals bent on threatening citizen’s right to life and association.

Kogi State Police Commissioner, Edeh Ayuba called on every stakeholder in Bassa Local government area to be committed to the peace process and avoid hostilities.
