The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State Tuesday organized a special prayer to seek God’s intervention over the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the Country and the world.
The 3 Hours Prayer was held at the Palace of Olujumu of Ijumu, at Iyara, headquarters of the Local Government.
The prayer led by the Coordinator of CAN in the Local Government, Reverend Lawrence Agboola was observed under the social distancing order by the Federal and Kogi State Governments.
Although Kogi is yet to record any case of Covid-19, the prayer was to supplicate for God to avert the deadly disease from the Local Government as well as the entire Kogi State.
Prayers were also offered for all Ijumu sons and daughters both at home and in diaspora for God’s protection from the global pandemic.
The Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni told Newsmen after the prayer that Nigeria needs God’s supernatural intervention to overcome the deadly virus which is currently increasing in the country.
Oba Ayeni who described prayer as a powerful tool for overcoming life challenges, charged the people to intensify prayer for God to put an end to the pandemic.
He however advised the people of Kogi State to abide by the health protocols as provided by health the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.
