The Director of Local Government (DLG) Lokoja Local Government area, Hajiya Fati Abubakar has launched special Fumigation exercise of the local government on Sunday in Lokoja.
The exercise which took off from Lokoja main entrance( Up NATACO) is part of the proactive measures against the coronavirus pandemic
Fati who commended Gov. Bello for providing the local government with all assistance needed to make the exercise successful, added that the exercise would continued despite the fact that no single case is recorded any where in the state.
She said as the main entrance to the federal Capital Territory, we need to workhard in seeing that the pandemic didn’t enter the local government in particular and the state in general.
“This is a start-up exercise sanitizing our environment. We are fighting this pandemic from all angles. So we are fighting it through our environment. That is why His Excellency Gov Yahaya Bello provided both finance and moral support to all the 21local government areas in the state to enable us fight Covid-19 pandemic
She appealed to the people of the area on the need to take the issue of social distancing very seriously. It will also be better for our people to remain indoors.
From the Lokoja Main entrance (Up NATACO) fumigators proceeded to NNPC Filling Station Felele, Ibro Garage Lokoja,Ganaja Junction , where the DLG witnessed the fumigation exercise, along with Malam Abubakar Yakubu, reps of Chairman of All Famers Association of Nigeria, reps of Chairman NURTW,Health officials from the local government among others.
