You know what? The difference between sense and nonsense is that nonsense does not have a sense. This looks simple, but it is difficult to routinely apply for making our gains of life.
Those who are given the gift to identify the difference between sense and nonsense and act accordingly are called men of understanding.
Such are the kind of men who would withdraw to their room and SWOT their thoughts before acting on them.
As Auditor-General for LGAs, Ododo was privileged to play the front-line role in the monumental achievement of Gov Bello in the area of security. While doing his primary job, he was contributing to the safety and security of the people and also thinking of the health situation of his community. From his own legitimate provision, he decided to support his community with a hospital, which now serves as focal health facility in his community. If he were the covetous type, he wouldn’t stake out his own money to build a free health facility for his people. Do we expect God to waste the reward for a righteous deed? No. God has made a commitment that He would never waste the reward for any doer of good. I may not be able to tell exactly where God was pleased with him, but I can tell you that his emergence as “the next Governor” of Kogi state is God’s Decision.
If you look at Gov Yahaya Bello closely, you will see that his inner heart is driven by generosity and the will to improve on the lives of ordinary people. How? Gov. Bello has pulled many ordinary families out of extreme poverty into good living. I mean, people who never thought of the opportunity to participate in governance as key players!
The familiar tradition in Nigeria is that a governor would appoint children of rich people and influential families to political positions in government. But Yahaya Bello did differently. The majority of his political appointees are from ordinary families.
Now, look at what Ododo has done! He has selected a teacher as his running mate. This simply means that a teacher would become a democratically elected deputy governor in Kogi state by God’s grace. Who says teaching is a poor career? Even if Joel is a rich teacher, what about the mass of poor teachers in the state who are inspired by this choice? Indeed, there is nothing as gratifying as giving hope to a people whom yhe society has relegated to the background for decades!
A word is enough for the wise. We do not have to tell the teachers what to do tobensure that Ododo becomes the governor of Kogi state, come November 2023.
