Dont Go to Eid Ground -Sultan of Sokoto

Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has told Muslims across Nigeria to pray at home during the forthcoming Eld-Fitri

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Professor Salisu Shehu, Deputy Secretary-General, NSCIA on Wednesday.

According to the Sultan, the advice was given in view of the current COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world.

The Sultan advised Muslim faithfuls to observe the Eld-Fitri prayer in their houses on Saturday or Sunday as the case may be.

Eld-Fitri festival which signifies the end of the one month of Ramadan fast is slated to take place on Saturday, 23rd, May 2020, if the Shawwal month is sighted on Friday, 22nd, May 2020.

Usually during the Eid-Fitr, Muslims faithful troop out in large number to observe two rakaats. To this end, the statement advised Muslims to be law-abiding in all circumstances
