Easter: Senator Oseni fetes Christians, calls for national cohesion
As Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, Senator Yakubu Oseni representing Kogi Central Senatorial District has called on his constituents and Nigerians at large to imbibe the teachings of the Lenten period that preceded the celebration.
Senator Oseni made the call today in a message to his Christian constituents where he urged them to remain steadfast and firm in their faith despite challenges of the year.
He noted that the period which marks the end of Lenten season and signifies crucification and resurrection of the Holy Prophet, Jesus Christ is a moment of selfless sacrifice and deep reflections.
While calling on the people to renew their commitment towards having a prosperous Kogi State and Nigeria, the lawmaker called for continued religious tolerance which he argued is the only potent way for national cohesion.
“The death and resurrection of the Prophet, Jesus Christ exemplifies restoration of hope to humanity and also a call on the people to live sacrificially.
“I therefore enjoin every Christian to be truly christ-like in their dealings with fellow humans and their leaders at all levels”, he admonished.
While urging Nigerians to place national interest and cohesion as top priority, Senator Oseni further asked his constituents to earnestly support and pray for Kogi State Government under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello for his efforts in transforming the Confluence State to an enviable height.
