Edo 2020:  Court Restrains Obaseki   From Participating In PDP Primaries

Trouble looms for Governor Godwin Obaseki as one PDP aspirant, Hon Ogbeide Ihama on Monday secured a Court order restraining him from party’s primaries for Edo 2020 governorship election.

Ihama who is currently member representing Oredo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives filed the suit on Monday at Federal High sitting in Port Harcourt.

He argument was that since Obaseki was not part of the candidates screened by the PDP NWC initially before the date on the timetable lapsed, he should not be allowed to participate in the primaries and the court agrees.

The court also restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for recognizing the embattled Governor, if wins PDP primaries.

Although, PDP leadership has granted Obaseki and his deputy waiver to contest for party’s primary election slated for Thursday June 25, 2020 in Benin
