As Christians all over the world celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ ,the member representing Ogori /Magongo at the State House of Assembly Hon. Moses Akande has called on the people of the LGA to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ by living in peace with one another , expressing love and forgiveness in their day to day activities.
Hon .Akande in his Easter message noted that Jesus Christ in his lifetime ,was the epitome of love , humility and forgiveness pointing out that even though he was sinless and harmful ,he was persecuted ,humiliated and derided but he forgave his persecutors
According to the Lawmaker , the commemoration of the death and triumphant resurrection of Jesus Christ at EASTER , calls for a sober reflection and prayers especially at this moment of global World health challenges in which Corona virus pandemic is ravaging the World including Nigeria
Hon. Akande eulogised the prompt ,pro active and pragmatic steps so far put in place by the workaholic and visionary Governor of the state His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello which has helped to put in check the entry of the deadly disease into Kogi State
He noted with thanks to the Governor that Kogi state was was among the first states in the Federation that put in place formidable Committee to address the threats of the pandemic.
He equally commended the relentless efforts of the State COVID19 Committee headed by the hardworking Deputy Governor noting that the committee has been working round the clock not only to create awareness on the dangers of the ravaging pandemic , but has also ensured strict compliance to the safety regulations put in place to check the spread of the virus into the State
While admonishing the people of the LGA to continue to pray for the immediate eradication of the pandemic from the World Hon .Akande called on them to adhere strictly to the safety protocols put in place by by WHO ,the FGN and Kogi state governments by using hand sanitizers , regular washing of hands with soap in running water , maintaining social distancing and stay at home orders
While commending the people for their present high level of awareness he prayed that the blessings of Easter will radiate further peace ,harmonious living and love among them and wash away any threatening pandemic in their midst
