It may interest you to know that the word ‘Nasara’ means Victory or Triumph in Arabic. It’s also the origin of the word ‘Nasara’ in Hausa (same meaning). Perhaps, His Royal Majesty, Alh. Mohmoh Ganaguda, the Okoro of Girinya Kingdom had it coming.
The future of Nigeria is no longer bleak, the generation of future credible leaders gets bigger in the country as against the backdrop of the present corrupt leaders, who had subjected the country to a state of mockery and a long chain of economic regress.
One of such symbol of hope is a leader born about four decades ago in the confluence state (Kogi state), in him is a natural born leader, an individual with the right influence, inspiration, determination and self-discipline to become a great leader.
This genius was born amidst laughter and tears of joy in the family of Suleiman Aguye at Karara. From birth, this child is born to conquer the enemies of progress not only in Karara, but in the entire Lokoja-Koto, as well as help rewrite the history of his constituency for generations yet unborn.
Having undergone both the Islamic and western education with flying colours. A young Aguye took his hustling in management skills to the business community, where he excelled in little time, resulting in a globetrot mark for him as contractor which in turn aided his business experience and political exposure.
Hon Danladi Suleiman Aguye ’s post teenage activities are laced with classic political reach and giving comfort to the less privilege. It was therefore not surprising when his Royal Majesty, the Okoro of Girinya Kingdom recognised his greatness and decided to crown him with the special traditional title of ‘Mai’Nasara Girinya’. Danladi Aguye , a very well personified the Mai’Nasara title in all ramifications with his selfless service to the people of Lokoja-Koto and beyond.
Like the proverbial lion that’s not afraid to face the impossible and take the maximum risk. In his youth, Aguye contested election into the House of Assembly in his constituency, even though he lost the primary in 2015 and 2019, he gave his opponents a run of their money and the incumbent won the election by a small margin. It is at this junction that his political star began to shine among the contemporary politicians of his time.
Aguye believes that no matter which ethnic group, race or religion we may belong to, our needs for help, acceptance and motivation remain the same across the globe. It is this believe that pushes him to continuously support and sponsor youths in education and all human endeavours across the state.
As a confirmation of his state political recognition, Aguye became the Special Adviser to one if the most respected Governor in the Nigeria, His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello shortly after.
His steady growth in political activism delineated his honesty, doggedness, hardwork and political focus, and this is sway on his relentless support for the present administration led by Governor Yahaya Bello – an icon of transformation in Kogi state
With the coming of 2023 general election, the elders of the party recognised his good leadership qualities and asked him to contest for Lokoja-Koto Federal Constituency under the platform of the APC, which he won the primary by a lanslide. Making him the new arrow head of one of the most controversial LGAs in the state in terms of political harakiri.
Knowing his political pedigree and credibility, the people of Lokoja-Koto Federal Constituency unanimously endorse him even before the election, an opportunity his age wouldn’t have given him.
As the flagbearer of the APC to represent Lokoja-Koto Federal Constituency, it is business as usual for this great man, imidiately, the people of Lokoja-Koto started feeling the impact of his positive prospective leadership as he turned around the fortunes of some of the areas through progressive project and human developmental initiatives influence by him due to his political network with his state government.
In a recent interview with some indigenes of the Lokoja-Koto in regards to his fast growing reputation as a selfless leader. Many of the people who spoke, claimed that in an age characterized by an obvious dearth of selless leader, Danladi Aguye had carved a niche for himself as a man of the people, a leader who has the best interest of his people at heart.
The ‘Mai’Nasara’ of Girinya Kingdom is an inspiration to many, and has left his footprints in the sand of time, his achievement speaks volume. For him, a good political life is not measured in the quantity of years but in its quality, it is not how far but how well.
Many are looking and counting on him to be the number one man to join hands with the next generation of leaders that will be produce in 4 years time for the continual revival of Lokoja-Koto Federal Constituency from total collapse as a result of inadequate representation and plans are in motion to achieve this desired objective.
The power to inspire people in all walks of life is a great gift. Great orators can and do change the world. They can speak simple and fundamental truths for all people and for all time. But it is not enough to simply convey a vision; you have to make firm political decisions and get things done to realise that vision. This is exactly what Mai’Nasaran Girinya has done all his political life.
A good leader is not made overnight and Mai’Nasaran Girinya is sure a good example of charity begins at home. A product of a good marriage and reputable. Aguye’s good home training is evident in every of his political, social and personal interactions.
For Danladi Aguye, it’s a story of how a man was groomed to be a selfless leader with an innate ability and concerted effort to reach that height. Neither quality on its own lead to that glory, it is his sheer believe in both nature and nurture with the power of nature primarily influential during his childhood years.
I have no doubt in my mind that Hon Danladi Suleiman Aguye the Mai’Nasaran Girinya is out to redefine development and make history in Lokoja-Koto, Kogi state and Nigeria as a whole
I am not trying to paint Mai’Nasaran Girinya as a saint without any flaws. He had his own shortcomings too, after all to err is only human. There are a few things he did that could have been done in a better way. But if you are looking for a person close to perfection in politics and humanity, look no further than distinguished Hon Danladi Suleiman Aguye.
