On the 16th of January 2024, The Caretaker Chairperson of Ogori mangongo LG Rt Honourable Rosemary Ohiezu, attended was part of the top government officials who joined Governor Yahaya Bello at the official opening and maiden matriculation ceremony at Kogi State University Kabba. As a distinguished guest.
The event was a momentous occasion for both the university and the students, as it marked the beginning of their academic journey and the official opening of the institution. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as the students, dressed in their matriculation gowns, took their oaths of allegiance, pledging to uphold the values and standards of the university.
The ceremony which took place at the University campus had in attendance, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, H.E Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello CON, the Governor elect, H.E, Alh Ododo Ahmed Usman and his Deputy Comr Salifu Oyibo Joel, the Obaro of Kabba and host of other dignitaries.
In her congratulatory message, the Right Honourable Rosemary Ohiezu commended the students for their dedication and hard work that led them to this important milestone. She emphasized the importance of quality education in shaping one’s future and encouraged the students to seize the opportunities available to them at Kogi State University.
Furthermore, the Right Honourable Rosemary Ohiezu highlighted the significance of education as a tool for personal and national development. She stressed the need for the students to make the most of their time in university by pursuing knowledge, developing critical thinking skills.
The event concluded with a total of 967 students matriculated. The students left the ceremony with renewed determination and enthusiasm, ready to embark on their academic journey at Kogi State University Kabba.
Overall, the official opening and maiden matriculation ceremony at Kogi State University Kabba was a memorable and significant event, made even more special by the presence of high dignitaries.
Rt Hon Rosemary Ohiezu said ” we’re more than happy that the idea to birth the state University has come into a existence under H.E Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello CON a man who has the interest of all Kogite at heart and this is a testament to his numerous projects across Kogi State and we’re all happy”. Rt Hon Rosemary Ohiezu concluded.
