As part of his routine engagements with his constituents, the Chief Whip of 8th Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Adavi Constituency, Honourable Asema Baba Haruna (CHICO) met with a delegation of Uka Youths in Adavi LGA today being 11th of February, 2024. Honourable Chico appreciated the role Uka Youths and those of other clans in Adavi LGA played in his election and the last Gubernatorial election in Kogi State which culminated in the huge success All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded in Adavi, assuring them that their supports would not go unrewarded.
Honourable Chico expressed optimism in the ability of the 5th Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to consolidate on the positive achievements of his predecessor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello who has succeeded in laying a solid foundation for the development and advancement of Kogi State. The Honourable Chief Whip assured the youth body that the new administration is committed towards improving upon the lots of the youths in Kogi State.
The representatives of the Uka Youths while responding commended Honourable Chico for outstanding achievements in his short period in office, stating that that he has proven himself to be a true representative of the people. The youth body also used the occasion to thank the 5th Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo through the Chief Whip for appointing Honourable Engr. Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf as Commissioner for Works in Kogi State describing his appointment as a round peg being fixed in a round hole with pledge that they would remain supportive to the course and success of the Ododo-led administration in Kogi State.
Uka youths representative in their concluding remarks stated that like Oliver Twist, they are pleading for more, with hopes that more of Adavi sons and daughters would be considered for appointments in the state.
