As the race for local government election in Kogi State gathers momentum, political upbeat in Idah local government has become interesting. The man to beat in the
race and contest is no other person than the fairless GRASSROOT mobilizer and immediate past Administrator of Idah LGA. HON. ABUH ODOMAH. Bearing in mind of the circumstances that led to his appointment, by the Executive Governor of Kogi state, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya AdoA Bello, Hon. Abuh Odomah hit the ground running by implementing the new direction policies/programmes to better the lots of Idah people. Inspite his short stay in office (December 2019 to March 2020), Idah people were agaped of the alacriry of good governance and achievements recorded by this man of history. First, the former Administrator unified beleaguered and rancourous APC members in all ten wards of the local government.This, he achieved through peaceful reconciliation of aggrieved members and their readiness to work as a team to make APC the party to beat in future elections. It is not exaggeration that Hon. Odomah and party relations made him tower among his peers as he unfolded in the politics of the area. Second, he accorded Traditional institution the rightful respect in the scheme of things in the area. Hon. Odomah was a man at home with traditional rulers through regular personal visit and meeting with them in Attah Igala palace to address and resolve issues. Third, Hon Odomah as a youth advoxare, organized series of youth sensirization and enlightenment meeting to preach peace, talk peace and act peace which has doused tension among youth of Idah LGA. Fourth, the immediate Council Administrator used his instrument of office to organize peace and security meeting where the security challenges of Idah LGA were discussed and ways of maintenance and sustenance of peace and security addressed. This, he held at Council Secretariat or in Attah palace Fifth, this man of destiny,and history, began rehabilitation of some roads and streets in Idah metropolis to make them motorable during dry season. The roads include Achadu road. Ega road and Nachalo road as the provision of infrastructures ro Idah people is one of the five thematic areas of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello administration in kogi state. Sixth, Hon. Odomah maintained smooth and harmonious working relationship with the Council management and staff of the council. This can be attested to by the Director of Local government(DLG) as then Administrator regularly interfaced wiih the Heads of Departments and staff. Seventh, it is noted that in and out of office, Hon. Odomah remains mobilizer, pacesetter and a household name in Idah LGA. It is not prejudice the clarion call on Hon. Abuh Odomah to contest as the executive chairman of Idah LGA in the forthcoming local government election. Eight. Proposed women empowerment, has arrangement has been made to empower women of Idah LGA to enable them engage in Petty and small businesses. Nineth, the dependable antecedents of Hon. Odomah as a Former Special Assistant to the Governor for Idah Federal constituency, endwaeed him to the people of Idah and APC family in his constituency. It was not surprised therefore that Hon. Odomah is a bridge and a goal getter when he assumed the Administeatorship of Idah local government. Tenth, despite being out of office, Hon. Odomah remains the rallying point and pillar of support for APC in Idah LGA. With zoning or not, Hon. ODOMAH IS THE ANSWER for Idah people as the preferred Candidate and next Executive Chairman of the local Government. From the above, it can be good that Hon Abuh Odomah has been tested and trusted as electing him as the next Chairman of Idah local governmentt will do him to offer more purposeful leadership to Idah people and remains vanguard of youth mobilizer and epitome of good governance worthy of emulation. It is my fervent belief that the choice of Hon. Odomah will mark a new dawn in the annals of political history of Idah LGA. The recent. Appointment of Hon. Abuh Odomah as Senior Special Assistant on security to the Governor to Idah LGA is a confirmation of his leadership qualities as a man with midas touch to offer purposeful leadership to Idah people and kogi state.
