*Igalamela Youth Renaissance Group Pay Courtesy Call on Honourable Baron Okwoli.*
Members of IYRG paid a courtesy call on the Kogi State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Joseph Baron Okwoli. The visit was a Sallah homage & presentation of a Congratulatory plaque to the honourable commissioner over his well deserved appointment into the Kogi State Executive Council as a Commissioner from Igalamela/Odolu local government area.
Members of the group poured encomium on Hon. Baron for his records of achievement while at the helms of affairs of Igalamela/Odolu local government as administrator.
The President of the group, comrade Alih Nasir Adamu said the group & indeed all well meaning sons & daughters of the local government are proud of Hon. Okwoli Baron for taking the local government to enviable height. Comrade Nasir described Hon. Baron as a diamond that spackles in the dark.
The honourable Senior Special Assistant to the governor on security in charge of Igalamela/Odolu local government, Hon. Ignatius Omachonu Onoja who was with the commissioner during the visit also received commendation for his great effort in tackling youth restiveness and insecurity in the local government. The Renaissance president noted that the appointment of Hon. Onoja has greatly assisted parents in stemming the unruly behavior of their wards making the local government area experience peace & respect for law & order. Hon. Onoja has demonstrated capacity to lead the local government the president added.
While presenting the Congratulatory plaque, the group appealed to the Hon. Commissioner to assist the youths in his usual manner, with life changing empowerment opportunities to enable them have a living.
Responding, the Hon. Commissioner, expressed appreciation to the group for discretely following his activities and coming up with a positive perception of him. He thanked the group for identifying with him, he feels encouraged he said. He seized the opportunity to explain the steps the state government is making to explore the full potential of all modes of transportation abound in the state particularly, getting the Confluence Express & Lokoja Mega Terminal on course. He stated that the ministry of Transportation has a huge capacity for youth engagement & assured the Renaissance Group of some considerations where applicable.
On his part, the honourable Senior Special Assistant on Security, assured he will not relent in ensuring a safe & secured environment for all as that is the primary mandate of his appointment and will not abuse the confidence the governor has in him. He solicited the cooperation of the group in stamping out all forms of criminalities & security threats in and around the local government.
