The Administrator of Ijumu Local Government Area and Kogi State AlGON Chairman, Alhaji Issa Taofiq escaped assassination attempt on his life.
The ugly incident happened along Okene – Lokoja road where he ran into the hoodlums who shot sporadically at him.
Alhaji Taofiq was returning back to Lokoja in respect of a case involving a former Commissioner in the State from Ijumu was miraculous shaved from the yet to be identified assailants.
Confirming the incident in a telephone conversation, the Media Aide to ALGON Chairman, Hon.Othman thanked God for saving the life of Ijumu local Government Administrator stating that the case will be reported to the Nigeria Police for proper investigation and to unravel the motive behind this dastardly act.
Hon.Othman called on the people of the area to remain calm and steadfast in their prayers for the Administrator.
