INDEPENDENCE : OPARISON SALUTE NIGERIANS, PREACH UNITY.
The immediate past Senior Special Assistant to Kogi state governor on Security Matters in charge of Ogori/Magongo local Government and APC Chairmanship candidate in the forthcoming local government elections scheduled to hold on the 12th of Dec 2020 Rt.Hon. Goke Oparison has urged Nigerians to use the Independence Day celebration as a time of sober reflection and also to thank God for the strides made so far as a nation.
Hon. Oparison, who said this via a statement issued by his media aide Mr Ogunleye Johnson in the early hours of Thursday, noted that despite numerous challenges, the nation was on a right path.
“On this October 1st, 2020, I congratulate president Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello and all Nigerians on the occasion of Nigeria’s 60th independence anniversary. There are those that may say we have very little to celebrate and I will respectfully disagree with them. In 60 years, Nigeria has faced many challenges, but we have overcome many of those challenges and made progress in multiple spheres of human endeavour”, he said.
“As Nigerians,we must continue to work together to surmount the challenges threatening to destabilise our budding democracy and undo the gains achieved in the past 20 years”
Hon.Oparison commended Governor Bello on his giantsrides achievements recorded so far in the areas of security, health Care delivery, Education and infrastructural boost.
The Chairmanship hopeful urged Nigerians to be committed to building bridges of peace, unity and development.
