The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Security Matters for Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad has called on leadership of Fulani herdsmen and farmers at Oguda and other farm settlements within the axis to fish-out criminal elements among them and help government curb the incidences of kidnappings and other related criminalities from the area.
Hon. Abdulrazaq stated this at a join security meeting between Fulani herdsmen and farmers after a report of security threat that prevented farmers from farming due to renew cases of kidnappings as a result of inflow of migrants suspected to be Fulani men from other neighbouring states.
After series of consultations and information gathered from the leadership of both Fulani herdsmen and farmers association, it was discorevered some young Fulani men who are not herders but with intent to perpetuate crime have settled at the farm centres terrorizing farmers with cooperation of some indigenous farmers and fulani herdsmen who created for them operational base.
The Chief Security Officer of Okene Local Government directed the leaders to identify all ilegal inhabitants of the area within seven days with aim of flushing them from the farm centers and bring succour to farmers. He warned farmers and other collaborators to desist from leasing their land to people with questionable characters and herdsmen without traceable addresses or proper identity should not be accommodated.
