The councillor representing Ayewa Ward in Kabba-Bunu local government of Kogi State, Hon. Aiyeditan Emmanuel, has flagged-off the distribution of free Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB, forms to prospective candidates from Ayewa ward in Kabba.
The lawmaker, while distributing the forms said he has determined among his various impact on the members of his ward to further encourage the students to put in their best in their academics while offering himself in this regard to relief the parents of the burden of sourcing for funds to get their children and wards registered for the examination which is prerequisite to furthering their education to higher institutions of learning.
Hon. Ayeditan, who described the gesture as his “Education Support Programme” to support parents and students in the ward, said he was compelled to embark on the exercise because there are many brilliant students from poor homes who may wish to go to further their education beyond secondary school, but with parents who cannot afford the fees.
“There are also orphans who have lost their parents without having anyone to cater for them educationally,” he said.
The lawmaker said his team went round the ward for enlightenment, screening and data capturing for the free JAMB forms so as to ensure that it is given to those who really need it and cannot afford it.
More than 50 beneficiaries were at Global Link Jamb Accredited Centre, Kabba to get registered for the entrance examination courtesy of Hon. Emmanuel Ayeditan’s laudable provision.
Parents and students, who spoke with The PROJECTOR Newspaper were full of appreciation to the politician, describing him as a true representative of the masses.
“My commitment toward education has been the propeller driving most of our programmes in the ward.
“As we know that education is the bedrock of any nation, and for us to get rid of social vices and ills in our society, we must train our children,” he said.
One of the beneficiaries, Dare joy motunrayo, expressed gratitude to the lawmaker, saying the gesture had impacted the lives of many especially the less privileged.
“Another beneficiary, Olorunfemi Damilola in her appreciation said “This is a privilege to us as students because it lessens the burden on our parents. I will advise others to make use of this opportunity judiciously, he said.
Jegede oluwaseyi and Oluwasegun oluwatobi also expressed joy and appreciation as they pray for God’s guidance and protection over the legislature and his family.
