Elder statesmen, religious and community leaders from the Kogi State Council of Ulama’a, on Saturday 24th June 2023, paid a congratulatory visit to the speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf to felicitate him on his emergence as the head of the state’s legislative arm.
They promised to continue to pray for the continuous peace and development of the state, even as they prayed Allah’s continued protection for the legislator.
Reacting, the speaker expressed gratitude to the council for the visit and their good wishes, describing them as father figures.
Rt. Hon Yusuf recalled that they were among those that moulded him spiritually, academically, socially and in his working life, before he attained his current position, and thanked them for the virtues they have imbued in him.
He promised to be in consultation with them on any matter that would require their advise and guidance and urged them to always remember him in prayer to ensure he succeeds in his current position.
