KOGI NEWMAP WILL ENSURE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SAFETY

The Kogi, Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) as a part of its desire to ensure occupational health and safety on the construction sites has produced and distributed Caution Signs/Signages to contractors handling Agassa and Adumu Road Gully Erosion Sites in the state. The Project Coordinator Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto who was represented by the Environment and Safeguard Officer,of the project, Mr Samson Benu stressed that NEWMAP has zero tolerance to fatality on construction sites for both workers and members of the community, adding that the contractors should adhere to instructions on the caution signs to avoid fatalities and also endeavour to produce more to compliment the effort of the SPMU. Responding the contractors appreciated the Project Coordinator and indeed the entire SPMU for prioritizing their safety . The staff of the construction firms were also trained on the various uses of the signage. Kogi Newmap…….Erosion Management Redefined.
