Kogi PDP Intact, One United Family

The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party says the party is intact, as one united family says it would not allow fifth columnists infiltrate its ranks.

The State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Farouk Yahaya made the disclosure while reacting to an online report: Crack in Kogi PDP as Members of Non-Working Committee Tackles Uhuotu-led SWC Exco, described the report as efforts by mischief makers to destabilize the party, said it would be resisted.

The State Secretary in a statement issued to Newsmen on Thursday said the PDP in the State is intact, described Hon. Kingsley Mokikan the mastermind behind the misinformation as not a member of the State Executive.

According to the Statement, Hon. Mokikan left the State Executive to contest the Chairmanship of Kabba Bunu LGA, said he has not returned, neither was he absorbed, described as false claims, that he is a member of the State Executive.

The State Secretary said as far as Kogi PDP is concerned, ” The party is intact, there is no crisis, the Party is one family, united spirit”, says the PDP want to continue with the struggle in peace and unity.

The PDP says it would not allow anybody to destabilize the Party or cause distraction, said the party is aware of those sponsoring the misleading report, disclosed that the PDP is together.

According to the statement, it has held series of meetings before the 2023 General election with the Chairmen and Secretary, Chaired by Hon. Sam Abenemi, with several leaders in attendance.

Similarly, the PDP Executive, he added held meetings with the Director General, PCC, Yomi Awoniyi in attendance before the election, described the PDP as fully intact, not in crisis, described the misleading information as figment of the imagination of the writers and their sponsors.

The PDP passed a confidence vote on the Engr. Sam Uhoutu’s leadership of the PDP, praised him for his management style that has kept the party afloat as an opposition party.

The PDP praised the efforts of members in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly Election in the State, said the party is aware of the intimidation, use of force, bypassing of the BVAS, and several other malpractices that took place between the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Ruling APC, but assured that the PDP remains resolute to face the future and challenges as a one united party.
