Kogi Speaker approves legislative agenda for the 7th assembly.
Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole has approved the legislative agenda for the seventh assembly.
This followed clause by clause consideration at resumed debate of the report of the house ad-hoc committee on legislative agenda for the seventh assembly,chaired by the Deputy Speaker Ahmed Muhammad.
Part of the recommendations of the report included, to ensure that the state economy was not under any threat,ensure state budget was implemented and to explore other legislative concerns.
Meanwhile kogi state House of Assembly has urged the state government to implement the state broadcasting law assented to in twenty eleven by the previous government.
The call followed the presentation of report of the Chairman House Committee on information strategy and Publicity, Musa Jimoh on the committees’ oversight to the state broadcasting corporation.
He said there was need to provide operational vehicles for the broadcast station and its sub-stations, rehabilitate the radio building as well as digitalise its operations for effective dissemination of information.
He also said that there was need to ensure the deduction of zero point two five percent of local government monthly allocation as stipulated by law to the station.
The Speaker Prince Mathew Kolawole, directed the house committee on information strategy and publicity to liase with the state ministry of information on how to make the broadcast outfit function better.
