In a bid to curtail and contain the spread of covid 19 in the state, the General manager, Kogi State Sanitation and Waste Management Board, KSSWMB, Mallam Abdulganiyu SaniĀ has disclosed the mass burial of 65 corpses which could not be identified for many months.
The General Manager in a statement he personally signed and made available to Journalists in Lokoja on Thursday said the corpses were evacuated from the morgue of the Federal Medical Center yesterdayĀ in Lokoja, capital of the state.
HeĀ avvered that, the action was in line with the public health law of 1963,and Kogi State sanitation board law.
He added thatĀ the unclaimed corpses could be thoseĀ suspected to be human kidnappers who were killedĀ by law enforcement agencies at various points and datesĀ across theĀ state.
He stated that the agency took the decision to prevent outbreak of epidemic in the State.
